Last night, December 1st, 2016 The Game Awards were held in Los Angeles California. Hosted and run by Geoff Keighley, the event was a night to remember. With world premieres of new games, DLC, and first looks at gameplay footage it was an exciting ride the whole way through. The Game Awards are a beautiful night of celebrating games, their creators, and the people who love to play them.

The Winners.

Game of the Year: Overwatch

Best Game Direction: Blizzard for (Overwatch)

Best Narrative: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Best Art Direction: Inside

Best Music/Sound Design: Doom

Best Performance: Nolan North as Nathan Drake 

Games For Impact: That Dragon, Cancer

Best Independent Game: Inside 

Best Mobile/Handheld Game: Pokemon Go

Best VR Game: Rez Infinite 

Best Action Game: Doom

Best Action/Adventure Game: Dishonored 2

Noteworthy Moments.

Geoff Keighley last year was unable to give Hideo Kojima his award for Metal Gear Solid V due to restrictions placed by his fallout with Konami. Geoff opened up the show with a passionate speech about this years Industry Icon winner Hideo Kojima.


Another speech that touched the hearts and souls of everyone in the room was the acceptance speech for That Dragon, Cancer’s win of Games for impact Awards.


The Night also had great world premiere footage of where games are heading.
